With any change in land use, municipal planning documents must be considered and if necessary, amended. Industrial scale energy projects are typically not a permitted land use initially and will require a Zoning By-law amendment and possibly an Official Plan amendment. MKI has dealt with many municipal bodies and municipal application processes. For larger projects, presentations to Mayor and Council have been made to introduce the developer and consultant and provide some initial information on the proposed technology.
